Hazwoper (40 Hour, 24 Hour)

Any employee who may be involved in a clean up of hazardous substances or materials, performs work at a permitted Treatment, Storage, and Disposal Facility (TSDF), or responds to an emergency clean up of hazardous substances or materials, must have had HAZWOPER training.

Depending on what duties they might have will depend on the training requirements. The basic course covers: regulation review, hazard recognition, toxicology, personal protective equipment, air monitoring equipment, fire protection, work procedures, site operations, site safety plans, medical surveillance, decontamination and site control.

Topics also covered include how to prevent spills, including proper storage, handling and inspection of containers.
